We have a system that checks for fraud.  It checks various information, including information supplied by the issuer(bank) of the card.

When things are showing as not being quite right we will hold the order and contact the customer. Hence we assume the card is stolen until we have evidence that proves otherwise.

There can be quite a few things that will flag up the order as possible fraud.

If we send goods and the card is stolen it is us that losses out. We have to bare the financial burden of the theft. Hence we do checks but only when necessary.

I'm just looking for something that identifies you as being the genuine card holder. I don't need DNA or fingerprints!

People have supplied all sorts of proof in the past. Some have supplied a passport photo or driving licence. Some have just pointed me to a company website which shows their details. Others take a quick photo of a small part of the credit card invoice etc.

Others haven't provided any ID but were able to explain why the system may have flagged things up.

So it's nothing to be alarmed about!
